Exercise and fun in Munich's Ostpark

On July 25th, the German RYHEALTH FUNathon took place in the picturesque Ostpark in Munich - a vibrant event focused entirely on fun and movement. Over 130 children and teenagers aged 10 to 16 took the opportunity to explore new physical activities. This event was organized in close collaboration with the two RYHEALTH project partners, Campus di Monaco (CdM) and Outdoor Against Cancer (OAC).

The event was themed "Olympia," inspired by the simultaneous Olympic Games taking place in Paris. A key focus was the "Power of Hydration," especially important given the summer temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, the primary emphasis was on enjoying movement.

The RYHEALTH FUNathon was a great success! Participants collected points at 18 diverse stations over the course of four hours. Whether building a human pyramid, crossing a "water surface" on "ice floes," or navigating a skateboard slalom, the children and teenagers demonstrated impressive teamwork and captivated park visitors.

Adults also had a fantastic time, enjoying a morning full of activity and excitement. "It was so much fun! At first, I didn’t believe we would be able to complete all the stations, but we supported each other as a team and tackled the challenges. I hope we can have another day like this in the next school year," said a 6th-grade student enthusiastically.

The concept of the FUNathon will certainly be repeated regularly. We are particularly excited to present an enhanced version of the event in September during the European Week of Sports. The beginning of the school year is the perfect time to focus on the topic of "Healthy Lifestyle" and engage students, teachers, and families in a fun and active way.
