Recap: World Cancer Day Brussels – 4 February 2025

On World Cancer Day 2025, Brussels hosted the project showcase ‘Fostering Synergies to Beat Cancer: The Impact of EU-Funded Projects’.
The event highlighted the significant contributions of EU-funded initiatives to Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Mission on Cancer, demonstrating how collaboration and innovation drive progress in cancer prevention, care, and research.

With 220 participants attending in person and nearly 500 joining online, the event brought together key stakeholders: representatives of EU-funded cancer projects, NGOs, health organisations, National Contact Points, National Focal Points, and policymakers. The discussions underscored the critical role of cross-sector synergies, data-driven approaches, equity, and innovation in shaping the future of cancer care.
