THE FOOD PROJECT
Good nutrition plays a crucial role in children's healthy growth and development. As eating habits tend to stick around into adulthood, it's essential to teach kids about balanced diets from an early age. Including an adequate amount of fruits and vegetables, especially alongside physical activity, promotes their overall well-being.
Sadly, insufficient fruit and vegetable consumption is widespread among European populations. Recommended intake levels vary across nations, highlighting the importance of comprehensive efforts to promote increased consumption, e.g. with campaigns like '5 a day'.
Moreover, a healthy diet should not only nourish our bodies but also be sustainable, minimizing the environmental impact. By making conscious choices, we can contribute to a healthier future for our children and the planet.
